Foundation Beyond Belief (FBB) is proud to once again organize a Foundation Beyond Belief international Light The Night Team. We will be the rallying point around which local freethought, atheist, and secular humanist groups will form teams to participate in Light the Night Walks.

As a Special Friend of Light The Night, FBB has raised $930,000 to date. In its first year, the team raised $430,000, breaking the Light The Night record for the most money raised by a first-year non-corporate team. With more than 80 local teams in the U.S. and Canada, FBB hit its goal of $500,000 in 2013. Thanks to hundreds of walkers and donors, national allies and supporters, and the generous matching grant and incentives from the Stiefel family and Stiefel Freethought Foundation, we have raised over $930,000 in the last two years!

In 2014, we think Light The Night has become an annual tradition for many local teams and we're ready to see how much momentum we’ve built. Our 2014 goal is 100 teams, 1000 walkers, and $100,000. Please join us! If you had a team last year, just ask your local chapter to sign you back up. We are joined in our efforts by our Allies: American Atheists, American Humanist Association, American Ethical Union, Atheist Alliance of America, Camp Quest, Center For Inquiry, Centre for Inquiry Canada, Freedom From Religion Foundation, Harvard Humanist Chaplaincy & Alumni, Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers, Secular Student Alliance, Society for Humanistic Judaism, and United Coalition of Reason are encouraging their affiliates to form and join teams.

While they do not have local groups, the Richard Dawkins Foundation has been a wonderful supporter of our efforts. The Institute for Science and Human Values, James Randi Educational Foundation, Project Reason, Grief Beyond Belief, Secular Woman, Think Atheist, Freethought Blogs, and Stiefel Freethought Foundation have also joined us as supporters.
