Foundation Beyond Belief usually highlights four charitable organizations per quarter. Among other considerations, beneficiaries are chosen for:

• efficiency
• effectiveness
• compatibility with humanist focus on mutual care of this world and this life
• geographic diversity and demographic diversity

Usually you'll see four different charities as beneficiaries. One quarter each year we feature the Compassionate Impact Grant, a single, game-changing grant for one innovative organization. 

Each step in our vetting process reflects Humanist Grants values.  We review each candidate in at least 10 steps which are thorough, analytic, and reflect best practices in the philanthropic community.
