Second-quarter human rights beneficiary Innocence Project of Texas gave us this report about how they are using the funds contributed by members of Foundation Beyond Belief. Members donated $3,630 to IPOT last quarter.

As someone who studies legal decision making and jurors perceptions of statistical evidence, I know how important Innocence Project's work is. Hair and even ballistics "matches" sound convincing in court, but can be more subjective than scientific. When you combine this with faulty eyewitness testimony, it paints a bleak picture of jury decisions. The Innocence Project provides an important check on the system.
