September 16-22 is Walk Kickoff Week!

To give you some extra incentives for joining one of our Light The Night teams and raising money to fight cancer during Blood Cancer Awareness Month this September, LLS has provided us additional prizes for the week of September 16-22.

1. Anyone who sends their fundraising webpage to 20 or more people and cc’s [email protected] will receive a $10 iTunes Gift Card!
2. The top five individual online fundraisers for the week (minimum $250 in the week) will win a $25 Amazon.com gift card.
3. Finally, the four Team Captains that have the most walkers on their team by the end of the week (winners from Registration Week are not eligible) will receive a $25 American Express gift card.

We walk because of people like David
David walked with Foundation Beyond Belief's Light The Night team last year right after finishing up chemotherapy treatments. However, he discovered in February of this year that his leukemia had come back.

He participated in a clinical trial in Philadelphia that involved genetically modifying his T-cells with viruses to cause them to attack cancer cells and then being infused with the modified cells. A few weeks later, he was declared cancer free!

From David's walk page: "This entire experience has been made significantly easier by family, friends, and all the doctors, nurses, CNAs, hospital staff, and everyone else you meet along the way. Thank you to everyone." If not for clinical trials and cutting edge treatments like those funded by LLS, David might not be cancer-free today.
