Welcome to the full launch!

Welcome to the full launch of Foundation Beyond Belief! Foundation membership is now open, and our first slate of beneficiaries is in place.

And what a slate it is. There's an organization of scientists committed to biodiversity, another providing health care to marginalized communities on five continents, and a secular alternative for addiction recovery. There's a non-profit bringing safe drinking water to people in desperate need, an advocacy group for refugees fleeing war, and another for asylum seekers fleeing torture. A scholarship fund for GLBT students who have been disowned by their families. An organization protecting children in war zones, and another protecting the environment by working toward "greener" buildings and cities.

Welcome!

The full launch of Foundation Beyond Belief is just hours away.

Beginning January 1, members can sign up for automatic contributions and distribute them among our ten featured beneficiaries, nominate and advocate for future beneficiaries, and engage in a social network built around humanist philanthropy.

For now, feel free to explore the site. Click "Current Charity List" by the flash bar above to learn about our current slate of featured charities, visit the Video Center, or read the FAQs.

Just be sure to pop in again tomorrow for the full launch!

Our final beneficiary: FOUNDATION BEYOND BELIEF

fbbEach quarter beginning January 1, Foundation Beyond Belief will highlight one charitable organization in each of ten categories. The tenth charity each quarter will be the Foundation itself.

Members sign up for an automatic monthly donation in the amount of their choice, then set up personal profiles to indicate how they would like their contribution distributed among the ten categories.

Those who choose to include the Foundation in their distribution will help fund our day-to-day operations, including the charitable giving program, our humanist parenting support program, and such planned programs as a humanist volunteer corps and a kids' philanthropy program.

The centerpiece of the Foundation will be a lively online community. Active members can join a social network and discussion forums centered on the ten categories of giving, advocate for causes, and help us choose the new beneficiaries each quarter. We are also creating a multi-author blog of world-class contributors focused on humanism, philanthropy, and the intersection of the two.
