noelle-george-smallFoundation Beyond Belief, the nation's largest humanist charity organization, is happy to announce the hiring of a new executive director, Noelle George, who will fill the shoes of the organization's founder and outgoing executive director, Dale McGowan.

Noelle George has been with FBB almost from the beginning, joining in 2011 to become the Program Director for the Beyond Belief Network (then called Volunteers Beyond Belief), followed by two years as Director of Operations, and most recently as Director of Special Projects. Noelle has also made an impact to the secular community outside of Foundation Beyond Belief, founding and directing the non-profit organizations SECULAR Center and Secular Avenue.

Dr. Zachary Moore, chair of the FBB Board of Directors, made the following statement:

"It is impossible to overstate the impact that Dale has made on the secular community through his founding and direction of Foundation Beyond Belief. Although he will be missed, his vision of humanist charity will continue to influence not only this organization, but countless others throughout the world for years to come.

The board considered a variety of strong candidates both from within and outside the secular community; however, it soon became clear that Noelle George's intimate experience with FBB and her sincere passion for its mission made her the ideal fit for the position. The board is very much looking forward to working together with Noelle to craft a bright future for FBB."

"I am very excited by the opportunity to lead Foundation Beyond Belief," said Noelle George. "Dale has been a great boss, mentor and friend for many years and I look forward to building on the amazing work he has done. Together with the wonderful staff and volunteers at FBB, we can continue to improve the lives of a great many people by putting humanism into action."

Noelle George will officially take over as executive director on June 1, 2015.
