Embarking on our next chapter

To our members, supporters, and friends—

Foundation Beyond Belief has made tremendous strides in advancing the cause of practical humanism, and we are now looking to take another step forward! The Board of Directors is now accepting applications for a new executive director. (Interested already? Check out the job description here.)

Dale McGowan created Foundation Beyond Belief in 2009, and has served as its first executive director for the past five years. In that time, he has advanced FBB’s mission to focus, encourage, and demonstrate humanist generosity and compassion. Now with nearly 2,000 members and $2 million donated to worthy charities all over the world, FBB is poised to transform the position of humanism from the ivory tower to the international service field, and beyond!

Although Dale’s leadership and guidance have been absolutely essential to our early years, he will be stepping aside to pursue other interests, and to create an opportunity for another passionate, dynamic, and effective leader to advance FBB’s mission. The new executive director will lead the overall organization: selecting, managing, and developing staff; providing key leadership and oversight on all FBB programs; and driving efforts to tell its story to members, donors, and the world. This is a fulfilling, exciting, and challenging job. Successful candidates will need to be not only organized, financially savvy, and responsible, but also flexible, creative, funny, inspirational, supportive, and comfortable with uncertainty. In addition, the ability to handle conflict well is particularly important, as conflict is an inevitable part of successful activism. The full job description is here.

Please share this job description with anyone who you think would be a good candidate, including yourself! To apply, send your cover letter and resume to board@foundationbeyondbelief.org. The deadline to apply is April 15, 2015.

Best regards,

-Z
