Want to put your humanism to work? FBB offers a few different volunteering opportunities. Choose the one that best suits you.
If you're interested in joining Foundation Beyond Belief itself, visit the Openings page to see what volunteer positions are currently available.
Help your own community as part of FBB’s volunteer network, Beyond Belief Network (BBN). BBN Teams are local groups that volunteer in their own communities. Find and join a BBN Team near you. As part of FBB’s volunteering network, BBN Teams are eligible for grants and awards. (They get some pretty cool t-shirts, too.) If there is not a team near you, we’ll help you start one.
Help those affected by disaster by participating in a Humanist Disaster Recovery volunteer deployment. Volunteers help the affected communities rebuild after disasters like floods and hurricanes. They do everything from mold remediation to framing to finishing work like drywall. Volunteers are never asked to do anything that is unsafe or outside their personal abilities.
Looking for a truly life-changing and enriching experience? Apply to our Humanist Service Corps. HSC volunteers spend a whole year in Ghana working on initiatives to improve the lives of hundreds of local people. The Service Corps focuses on protecting human rights by meeting basic needs. Human rights abuses occur most commonly where people have insufficient access to education, healthcare, and jobs. HSC collaborates with local organizations and individuals in Ghana to provide these basic needs and empower members of the local community. Read up on the Humanist Service Corps, and in the winter you can apply here.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions you have about volunteering. Thank you for making a difference through compassionate action!
