Invasive Plant Removal at Oakland Nature Preserve
Oakland Nature Preserve was established in response to the environmental degradation of wetland and upland habitats surrounding Lake Apopka. North Orlando Oasis volunteers monthly to help restore the Preserve upland property back to its original Sandhill habitat. Habitat Restoration is a long process that requires lots of help from committed volunteers who perform tasks such as: removing invasive plants, preparing the soil, growing native plants, maintaining restored areas, and monitoring wildlife. You can learn more about the Oakland Nature Preserve on their website: https://oaklandnaturepreserve.wildapricot.org/
Join North Orlando Oasis one Saturday each month as we work to remove invasive plants, enjoy one another's company, and learn about our local ecosystem. This is a great event for families!
Bring water, sunscreen, and bug repellant.
