Elyse Anders is running in the Chicago Marathon to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Elyse AndersNotable Skepchick blogger, activist, and cancer survivor Elyse Anders is running an entire marathon, the Chicago Marathon to be exact, as part of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program. Because her treatment for cancer required the removal of her stomach, she has additional challenges with ensuring that she consumes enough calories and stays hydrated. She’s more than halfway to her fundraising goal, and she could use some help getting the rest of the way. She’s asking for $2.62 (that’s 10 cents a mile) to be donated to her TNT fundraising page.

As Elyse puts it:

But I’m not just running a couple baker’s dozens of miles. I’m also raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Because EFF CANCER. Cancer is the worst. And we need to end that shit. And LLS is working on that as well as helping to support those who are fighting the disease. And I think raising a few dollars to help them end blood cancers is a pretty worthy goal.

In addition to donating to Elyse’s page, you can also support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by joining the Foundation Beyond Belief International Light The Night team and helping raise money or donating to LTN (every dollar you give to LTN will be matched by the Stiefel family). You can also register to donate bone marrow to save the life of someone with blood cancer.
