Beyond Belief Network teams not afraid of service in spooktacular October

Foundation Beyond Belief’s Beyond Belief Network is a network of secular humanist groups volunteering in their communities and raising money for FBB’s featured charities and programs. Any group with a public secular humanist or atheist identity is welcome to join, regardless of experience or group size.

CNY2The Central New York Humanist Association participated in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk. Their group of fourteen gathered in Clinton Square – Syracuse, New York to honor survivors, caretakers, and those who have lost their battle with cancer. Their team surpassed their initial goal and raised $1,050 for the LLS!

MA1Minnesota Atheists purchased groceries and prepared dinner for fifty guests at the Family Place homeless shelter. The team also dined with the families and afterwards cleaned up.

AA1Between August 18th and September 21st, Austin Atheists Helping the Homeless collected and sorted nearly $1,700 worth of basic living items to distribute to people who are homeless in downtown Austin. Ten members of ATXAHH's knitting group, Gettin' Knotty also knitted 40 washcloths in the same time frame to distribute at their team's monthly giveaway. More than thirty ATXAHH volunteers distributed basic living items to over 125 people who are homeless in downtown Austin. In addition to the standard items distributed, they also handed out homemade treats to celebrate their fifth year serving the community.

CCA4Seventeen members from Corpus Christi Atheists volunteered to sort and pack food for the needy at the Food Bank of Corpus Christi. They prepared 6,481 pounds of food!

We welcome all atheist groups interested in service, from groups with extensive volunteer experience to newly formed groups new to secular service. By aggregating our efforts, we demonstrate that all we really need is charity and goodness to make the world a better place.
