BBN Teams ready for Week of Action

By

Week of Action starts April 30th-May 6th this year and Beyond Belief Network is proud to offer a preview of some of the events in which Beyond Belief Network teams plan to participate. The Week of Action initiative was started by Humanist Rabbi Adam Chalom in 2010 as a day of good deeds in response to the National Day of Prayer and National Day of Reason. Is there not a registered event in your area? You can still participate! Simply do something to benefit your community or another person this week and post it to Facebook or tweet about it @weekofaction using the tag #choosetoACT.

CNYCentral New York Humanist Association is getting a head start with their Week of Action event. On April 25, Syracuse, NY is hosting a "Clean Up 'Cuse" event to coincide with OCRRA's county-wide Earth Day Litter Cleanup. Central New York Humanist Association will remove litter at Lewis Park, using tools and bags provided by the city. It’s a family-friendly event. Everyone of all ages and abilities is welcome.

PikesPikes Peak Atheists and Pikes Peak Atheist Families in Colorado Springs, CO will participate in their third volunteer day for Black Forest Animal Sanctuary on May 2nd. Their activities will include everything from fence building and heavy lifting to more moderate activities like stall cleaning and storage organizing. There are also plenty of animals in need of loving, grooming, feeding and general attention. Pikes Peak Atheists and Pikes Peak Atheist Families were previously Beyond Belief Network’s January Team of the Month.

Beyond Belief Network would like to remind all participating Beyond Belief Network teams that any service events completed during Week of Action can count towards raising their 2015 BBN level. For inspiration, check out some of last year's events.  Also, don’t forget to submit your event reports! Completing this simple online task qualifies teams for perks including t-shirts, promotional opportunities, and national recognition. If you have pictures of your team in action, don’t forget to include them! For suggestions on how to take the best photographs, check out this guide.
