Announcing the Beyond Belief Network September Team and Picture of the Month!

By

It was as difficult as ever to pick the winners for September Team and Picture of the Month. Our Beyond Belief Network teams organized more than 30 events and contributed over 3,000 hours of volunteer service! We picked the Humanist Community of the Space Coast as our September Team of the Month for getting a great turnout at some unique and multifaceted

events. Since last year, the Space Coast humanists have gotten together 2-3 times a month to clean Hightower Beach Park in Satellite Beach, Florida. Over Labor Day weekend, volunteers helped raise money for the National Kidney Foundation of Florida at the Rich Salick Charity Surf Festival. They made a donation to have an outreach tent at the beach on Friday and donated all the donations they received. They also volunteered to serve food and clean the beach for the charity luau party on Saturday and even donated to attend the charity silent auction on Sunday. It was a full weekend of volunteering! The Humanist Community of the Space Coast also donated for a table at the SpaceCoast Pride Festival and Parade. Additionally, volunteers helped set up the parade route, direct the participants, and help clean up after the event. Did we mention that the Humanist Community of the Space Coast just joined BBN in September? Talk about hitting the ground running!

Our September Picture of the Month is from the Camden County Humanists, who have adopted a mile-long stretch of the Blackhorse Pike. We love everything about this photo – the crisp colors, the action with everyone going a different direction, the staging of one of the volunteers looking directly at the camera. It looks like a painting!
