The 2014 Light The Night walks are underway!

By

LTNcaptThanks to the dedication of past Light The Night participants, Foundation Beyond Belief has raised more than $930,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) in 2012 and 2013. Our first year we raised $430,000, the most money ever raised by a first-year non-corporate LLS partner, and the fourth most raised by any team. Our second year we raised another $500,000, with more than 80 teams participating in the effort. Our efforts were covered widely by media sources as well as with a special press release from LLS.

I hope you will join us this year to help remember our Honored Hero David Willis, who passed away in June after an 8½-year battle with leukemia. David was an amazing person and was passionate about supporting LLS. And David is just one of the many reasons this cause is so important to us.

  •  Someone in the US is diagnosed with a blood cancer about every 3 minutes
  • About every 10 minutes, someone in the US dies of a blood cancer

It’s amazing what our community can accomplish when we work together, and FBB aims to build our past success into a breakthrough milestone for the freethought movement. Our 2014 goal is to raise $100,000 internationally for LLS. This goal for our final year as an LLS International Team will take us over $1 million raised for LLS over our three years of participation.

Please help us achieve this milestone by forming joining a local Light The Night team—just use the red “Form a Team” or yellow “Join a Team” button on our 2014 team page. You can also join our virtual team if there are no teams in your area.

Your support can help change the perception of nontheists in your local community, in addition to funding worthy secular causes such as blood cancer education, scientific research, and compassionate patient care.
