The Humanist Crisis Response program of Foundation Beyond Belief serves as a focal point for the humanist response to major humanitarian crises. Our purpose is twofold: to bring resources to those in desperate need, and to raise awareness of that need in the humanist community and beyond.

SUMMARY: At 3:01 pm CT on May 20, a massive EF-5 tornado decimated the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore, OK. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this disaster.

RECIPIENTS FOR CURRENT DRIVE


Operation USA, an international relief agency based in Los Angeles, is providing emergency aid where needed to community-based health organizations across Oklahoma. They are sending emergency, shelter, and cleaning supplies to where they're most needed, and they are helping community health organizations and schools recover from damage sustained from the severe storm system. The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is the state’s largest hunger relief organization. It is coordinating efforts with other disaster relief agencies in the state to provide food and water for those in need.
