Join Us in Seeding Local Power

As the year draws to a close, GO Humanity—formerly Foundation Beyond Belief—is asking you to join us in Seeding Local Power.

This isn’t about charity from the top down. It’s about growing power for marginalized people from the ground up.

We’ve spent the year sprouting a people-powered resiliency network—one that catches those falling through the cracks of mainstream safety nets.

In 2022, this meant:

  • $20,600 in grants to Food Security Project teams, who provided 117,219 people 23,4609 pounds of food
  • Support to GO Teams—102 groups that gave 13,547 hours to local causes
  • $15,412 to Humanist Disaster Recovery, helping those hardest-hit by extreme heat, water shortages, famine, and hurricanes
  • $100,000 to Food Rescue Alliance—which rescued over 20 million pounds of food—and Boston Farms, which has turned 1.3 acres of urban land into community farms.

Read all about it in our Annual Report.

This is just the beginning.

Our Annual Appeal goal of $75,000 will support adding new teams monthly to our volunteer network and tripling our grants to them.

We’re also evolving Humanist Disaster Recovery into Disaster Resiliency–building teams’ infrastructure so they can proactively fortify their communities against crises, and launch responses independent of reactive fundraising campaigns.

And as a perk, you can be proud that your donation will support secular work driven by humanist values—meaning you’re funding work free of bigotry, proselytizing, and corporate greed.

The roots we’ve sown have borne some amazing fruit. Please join us in nurturing what we’ve grown and watching it flourish.
