LIGHTHAWK

LightHawk’s mission is to champion environmental protection through the unique perspective of flight. Using volunteer pilots, they provide flights to organizations and individuals working in to protect land, water and wildlife. LightHawk is the oldest and largest volunteer-based environmental aviation organization providing an aerial perspective which enhances environmental accountability and accelerates conservation efforts in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Central America.

The flights provide information and contact with wilderness regions which might not otherwise be reached, with a broad focus encompassing the protection of wildlands; wildlife; freshwater and wetlands; and oceans, reefs and coastlines. The broad focus of their programs means that support for LightHawk in turn provides support for an incredibly array of environmental programs. Foundation Beyond Belief is excited to grow our relationship with an organization with such a wide impact and innovative approach

Lighthawk works with a number of strategic partners across a number of regions. These are organizations have benefited from Lighthawk’s unique ability to provide aerial photography, and access to remote areas. Organizations that have benefited from Lighthawk’s services include the Mexican Wolf Species Survival Program, The Peregrine Fund, Restore America’s Estuaries, the Waterkeeper Alliance, the International League of Conservation Photographers, Northeast Wilderness Trust and New Mexico Wilderness Alliance.
