National Hotline: Polaris Project responded to more than 35,000 calls into the National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC) hotline. Since Polaris Project began operating the hotline in 2007, the call volume grew from 200 calls per month to now more than 2,000 calls per month. Victim Protection: Polaris Project provided services for more than 500 victims of human trafficking through our local programs in Washington, DC and New Jersey. Policy Advocacy: Through the advocacy of Polaris Project and our partners more than 47 states plus Washington, DC have some form of anti-trafficking law and the United States has a strong federal anti-trafficking law. Building the Anti-Trafficking Field: Polaris Project provided training and technical assistance to more than 32,000 critical actors in the fight against human trafficking such as human trafficking task forces, law enforcement, medical professionals, legal professionals, government agencies, and many more. Training Future Leaders: Nearly 400 Fellows completed Polaris Project's formalized leadership development program through training and on-the-ground practical experiences in the anti-trafficking movement. Grassroots Movement Building: Polaris Project's grassroots network currently stands at more than 23,000 growing members who mobilize to take action against human trafficking by advocating for state and federal policy and advertising the NHTRC hotline number. Polaris Project is a leading organization in the United States combating all forms of human trafficking and serving both U.S. citizens and foreign national victims, including men, women, and children. We use a holistic strategy, taking what we learn from our work with survivors and using it to guide the creation of long-term solutions. We strive for systemic change by advocating for stronger federal and state laws, operating the National Human Trafficking Resource Center hotline 1.888.3737.888, and providing services to help our clients and all victims of human trafficking.
